The Croatian Migrit Group about participation in the project of constructing the Hanhikivi 1 nuclear power plant in Finland

We have received the news that the Finnish government reached a decision that the project Hankikivi 1 will be restricted to Finland's exclusive nature, which means that the project participants will be exclusively Finnish companies and that the project is aimed exclusively for Finnish market with Finnish operators as end-users of energy produced.

Migrit Group, once again stresses that we have fulfilled all the requirements for the project participation and we will continue to seek and develop investment opportunities in the European energy projects with reduced CO2 emission (non-carbon energy) which is in accordance to the EU and Croatian Energy Strategy, in addition to our corporate strategy within the group.

According to the press release published on the website of the Ministry of Employment and the Economy in Finland ( on 16th July 2015 and the statement by minister Olli Rehn, Croatian company Migrit Solar Energy Ltd, which is a member of the Migrit Group, would like to point out that the entire process of deciding on the continuance of the project of constructing the Hanhikivi 1 nuclear power plant in Finland is still in progress.


In continuance to our investments and achieving our business plans we are pleased to announce that Migrit group is in process of receiving approval from the Finnish authorities to participate in the construction of nuclear power plant HANHIKIVI 1 in Finland.

The investment value is EUR 158,513,600 and the entire project will be financed in cooperation with credit institutions.

It is an innovative nuclear power plant, which is of utmost importance on the European energy map, which puts our company, and thus the Republic of Croatia in position of one of the major participants in the European energy market.

Certainly we need to stress the support we have received from the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Croatia in the ongoing process, which we hope will continue in the further as well, to the mutual satisfaction and mutual interest.
